Qualification, Experience & Age:

1) Deputy
Secretary, University Classes, G.U.

Qualification
& Experience: The minimum qualifications for direct recruitment to the said
post shall be a Master’s Degree with atleast 55% of the marks or its equivalent
grade of ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale, along with-

(i) Nine
years’ of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs.6,000/- and above
with experience in educational administration, or

(ii)
Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of
higher education. Or,

(iii) 5
years’ of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent
post/ analogous post in a managerial position.

Nature of Post: Permanent

Desirable:

(i) Working
knowledge of database management,

(ii) Proven
experience of handling student affairs in reputed institution.

(iii)
Qualification in the area of management..

Age: Should not be above 45 years as on
01.06.2016

2) System Officer (IT), G.U.

Qualification & Experience:
BE/B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering/IT with atleast a first class,
and also atleast 5 (five) year’s of experience in relevant field at University
level or equivalent higher educational institutions.

Desirable: Candidate having adequate
knowledge of University functioning, knowledge of handling project like Office
Automation & E-Governance, and having diploma/certificate in computer
hardware maintenance & networking etc. from recognised institute.

Age: Should not be above 38 years on
01.06.2016 Nature of Post: Permanent

3) Research Fellow-I, Population Research Centre, G.U. (Sponsored by the
Ministry of Health & Family welfare, Govt. of India):

Educational Qualification:

(i) At least
2nd class Post Graduate Degree in Demography/Population Studies/Statistics/
Economics/ Mathematics/Sociology from UGC recognized University/ Institution.

(ii)
Knowledge of Computer Application and Programming.

Experience:- 4 years of post
qualification experience (i.e. after Post Graduation). Relaxable for internal
candidates (i.e. applicants serving at G.U. or PRC, G.U. as on the date of
application)

Age: – Must not be above 38 years on
date of application. Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/P.H. candidates as per State
Govt. Rules. For internal candidates, age limit will be relaxed by 5 years.

4) Project Manager, G.U. (Contractual)

Essential Qualification: A Bachelor
degree preferably in Civil Engineering or a Master degree. Retired persons
having adequate knowledge of working in Govt. offices may also apply.

Experience: At least 5 years experience
in dealing with Govt. office. Duties & Responsibilities: The selected
candidate will be required to look after various developmental projects of the
University and to co-ordinate between the Govt., UGC and such other agencies
with the University.

Nature of Post: Contractual (purely
temporary) — initially for one year and extendable on satisfactory performance
report

Age: Should not be less than 45 years
& not above 65 years as on 01.06.2016

Application fee: The candidates will be required to pay an
amount of Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand) only and in case of SC/ST Rs.500/-
(Rupees five hundred) only by Demand Draft in favour of the “Registrar, Gauhati
University” payable at SBI, G.U. Branch as an application fee for the posts.
Completed applications in the prescribed form along with necessary enclosures
must reach “The Registrar, Gauhati University, Guwahati-14” latest by
20.06.2016. Two copies of application with all testimonials are needed to be
submitted. The envelope containing the application form must indicate the name
of the post & advertisement no.
