NOTICE
For award of Post Matric and Merit Cum Means Based Scholarship to the students belonging to the Minority Communities for the year 2015-16
Re-advertisement of Fresh and Renewal applications under Post Matric and Merit-cum-Means based scholarship scheme for the year 2015-16 are invited from the students of notified minority communities studying in class XI onwards up to M Phil/PhD and students of ITI/ Polytechnic and other vocational courses and pursuing professional and technical courses at under-graduate and post-graduate levels respectively in institutions recognized by the appropriate authority through Online.
Online Scholarship Management System (OSMS) has already been introduced for the Post matric Scholarship Scheme, from the year 2012-13 and for the Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship Scheme, from the year 2011-12 respectively. The site for Post matric and merit- cum-Means based scholarship scheme was accessed through the URL www.momascholarship.gov.in. However from 2015-16, the online implementation of the Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship will be done through the common national Scholarship web Portal of the Government of india, under URL www.scholarships.gov.in. A link to the site is also made available in the website of the Ministry of Minority Affair’s i.e. www.minorityaffairs.gov.in.
Only online application under the scheme will be accepted and no request for offline applications will be entertained. Before applying online, students are advised to read carefully the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) available on the homepage of the website i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in. Students cannot apply as fresh applicant if he/she is a renewal candidate. Uploading of necessary documents in the website is mandatory for both Fresh and Renewal. The Bank Account Number of applicants must be in his/her own name. The Bank Account No., IFSC Code, MICR Code etc. must be correct while applying on online. The “AADHAAR” number is optional for State of Assam under Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship for 2015-16.
Instruction for mandatory registration by Institutes through www.scholarships.gov.in
It is seen that some of the Schools/Colleges/lnstitutions/Universities are still not yet registered in the web portal. In this regard Schools/Colleges/institutions/universities are requested to contact the nodal office to collect the proforma of National Scholarship Web Portal for online registration of the Schools/Colleges/lnstitutions/Universities etc. within 20th August 2015 positively, so that the eligible students can apply and avail the scholarship scheme of Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt, of India.
